About Novruz Aliyev
Novruz Aliyev is Wolk Inc's Blockchain and Web3 engineer, responsible for smart contract development, DeFi protocol architecture, and Web3 full-stack delivery. Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, he studied Computer Science at ADA University before spending three years in the Ethereum development ecosystem — contributing to open-source DeFi tooling and working as a contract Solidity engineer for US-based Web3 startups.
He joined Wolk Inc in 2023, bringing a rare combination of smart contract security depth and full-stack Web3 delivery experience. His work spans contract development, upgrade patterns, gas optimisation, NFT infrastructure, and the frontend integration layers that connect contracts to user-facing applications. He has supported three external security audits across client projects — each with zero critical findings.
Novruz is one of the younger engineers on the team but consistently one of the sharpest on security edge cases. He has developed Wolk Inc's Web3 pre-audit checklist — a review process that identifies common vulnerability patterns before external audits begin, saving clients both time and audit fees.
Key Projects
DeFi Lending Protocol — TVL $12M+
Lead Contract EngineerOutcome: 3 external audits completed — zero critical findings; $12M+ TVL secured at launch
NFT Launchpad Platform
Full-Stack Web3 EngineerOutcome: Built end-to-end — contract to marketplace UI — in 8 weeks; 15K+ NFTs minted at launch
Web3 Pre-Audit Checklist
AuthorOutcome: Internal framework adopted across all Web3 engagements; reduced critical audit findings by 80%
Ambitious Missions
Raise smart contract security standards in the startup Web3 ecosystem where corners are routinely cut under speed pressure
Build educational resources that help Web3 founders understand what "audit-ready" actually means before they start coding
Contribute to open-source Ethereum tooling that makes gas optimisation more accessible to independent developers
Personality Traits
Security-obsessed
can't write a smart contract without running it through every attack vector he knows
Precise
writes comments in code for every non-obvious decision, treats documentation as part of delivery
Competitive
tracks gas optimisation benchmarks across the ecosystem and always wants Wolk Inc contracts to rank well
Collaborative
unusually generous with code review time for such a young engineer
